Stewart Springs, Weed 938-2222
An old resort with healing waters and private baths in a beautiful canyon, about 20 minutes' drive north of Mt. Shasta. Restaurant open on weekends only, no other restaurants close, but some kitchens available.
Drive north from Mt. Shasta on I-5, about 5 miles past Weed. Exit says Stewart Springs Road. Coming south, the exit is just past the airport. Exit says Edgewood, Gazelle. Off either exit, turn west one block to stop sign. Turn right (north), go about a quarter mile and turn on Stewart Springs Rd. Drive to the end, about 4 miles.

A-Frame: $325, sleeps 10 people
Mineral baths for renters: $13

Campgrounds On or Near Mt. Shasta

McBride Springs (fee of $10 per night; no reservations, first come, first served)

Panther Meadows (free, high on the mountain first come, first served)

For both of these campgrounds, drive up Everitt Memorial Highway.
(It is also possible to camp outside of the official campgrounds.)

Lake Siskiyou Campground & RV Park 926-2618 (About 10 minutes drive; go out WA. Barr Rd. to Campground) (Reservations required)

Tent sites: $18 per day for up to two people Trailer space rental with water, electricity & sewer: $25

Trailer rental: $50 - $80 for one or two people

Cabins: $105 for two; 1 queen bed, 1 futon, 2 sleeping pods

Transportation

Redding, CA is the closest airport.  However, it is also possible to fly into San Francisco or Sacramento, both which are a 3-4 hour drive from Mount Shasta.
